Ultrahuman Introduces UltraSphere Decision Engine, Moves AI Analysis Onto the Ring

Indian smart ring maker Ultrahuman has rolled out its Emerald update, moving all health data processing onto the device itself and adding UltraSphere, an engine that generates more than 60 specific recommendations a day.

Ultrahuman, the Indian smart ring maker competing with Oura, began rolling out a global app update codenamed Emerald on July 23, 2026. It's the biggest change in the product's history: sensor data is now processed directly on the ring, without needing an internet connection, and a new UltraSphere module turns raw readings into ready-made prompts for what to do in the moment.

What Emerald changes

Until now, the Ultrahuman app buried users in charts and numbers: HRV levels, skin temperature, sleep quality, stress. Emerald flips that model. Instead of data tables, the home screen now shows UltraSphere, described by the company as the wearables industry's first 'decision engine.' The system analyzes biomarkers alongside context, including time of day, location and weather, and suggests one specific action, for example a ten-minute walk in the sun instead of coffee when energy levels dip around 3 p.m.

Processing without a network

The key technical change is moving data analysis onto the ring itself. Previously, some calculations required a connection to a smartphone or the cloud; now live metrics, including recovery scores and stress indicators, are available offline. The company pairs this with its own health intelligence layer called Jade, which handles interpreting sleep data, menstrual cycle tracking, heart rate, and glucose levels collected via the Ultrahuman M1 or M2 Live devices.

New features in the app

The update also introduces new tabs: Sleep Screener for assessing sleep quality, Longevity focused on longevity markers, and Windows showing optimal time windows for specific activities. Workout detection for the Ring AIR and Ring PRO has also been overhauled, heart rate measurement accuracy improved, and atrial fibrillation detection expanded. The app now also supports data from third-party devices, including Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP and AirPods Gen 3, letting users tie them into the Ultrahuman ecosystem.

Why it matters

The smart ring market is growing faster than the smartwatch market, with Oura, Samsung and Circular all competing to be the first to convince users that health data can be understood without medical expertise. Moving AI analysis onto the hardware itself, without relying on the cloud, fits a broader trend away from models that require a constant internet connection, also visible in phones and laptops running local language models.

For Polish Ultrahuman users, who buy their rings mainly through the company's online store and authorized distributors, the update mainly means a practical interface change: fewer charts, more ready-made recommendations, and the ability to use core health features while traveling without coverage, for example in the mountains or abroad without data roaming.

Ultrahuman's business model has differed from Oura's from the start by not requiring a mandatory monthly subscription, something the company highlights with every major update as a competitive edge. Emerald doesn't change that: the new features, including UltraSphere, are rolling out to all users free of charge as part of the app update.

The company hasn't yet said when similar features will reach its other products, including the M1 band and the M2 Live metabolism-monitoring patch. The Jade AI layer and on-device processing can be expected to gradually extend across the entire Ultrahuman device ecosystem in the coming quarters.
