LG Electronics has announced the next chapter of its smart home ecosystem, which it will unveil at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The centerpiece of the showcase will be ThinQ Claw, a chat-based AI assistant designed to understand residents' intentions and independently coordinate home appliances, air conditioning, energy management, and security systems.
What LG will show in Berlin
The company has framed this year's presentation around the theme Innovation in Tune with You, built on a concept it calls Affectionate Intelligence. The idea is a set of solutions that jointly support residents in everyday tasks and adapt to their lifestyle, rather than requiring manual configuration of each device.
At its booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin, LG will split the space into three themed zones: the AI Home Kitchen Zone, the AI Home Living Zone, and the AI Home Rest Zone. In each, visitors will be able to see how the AI Orchestra system ties together space management, energy, and connectivity into a single, coherent ecosystem.
An assistant that understands context
The headline addition is ThinQ Claw, a text-chat-based assistant designed to interpret user commands naturally while accounting for the context of their life, such as calendar plans or recurring habits. The system remembers residents' preferences and uses them to offer recommendations, while coordinating kitchen appliances, air conditioning, and cleaning robots at the same time.
The system also integrates with external calendars and services, allowing the home to automatically adjust its operation to residents' daily schedules without manually programmed routines. LG notes that ThinQ Claw was built on the Homey platform, which the company acquired in 2024.

Energy and data security
The second pillar of the presentation is the Home Energy Management System, or HEMS, designed to coordinate solar panels, home battery storage, electric vehicle chargers, and smart meters. The goal is to automatically optimize a household's power consumption without requiring user input.
LG has also announced LG Shield, a framework designed to protect connected devices and customer data from unauthorized access. The move responds to the growing number of devices connected to home networks, which are becoming increasingly attractive targets for attacks.
Building on last year's concept
This year's presentation builds on the AI Appliances Orchestra concept that LG first introduced a year earlier. In this edition, the company is placing greater emphasis on integrating the entire ecosystem, including a new generation of TVs meant to serve as the central hub of home automation alongside traditional appliances.
For the Polish market, the European debut of ThinQ Pro is notable, a variant designed for multi-family buildings and commercial properties such as apartment complexes and hotels. It signals that LG wants to sell its AI ecosystem not just to individual households but also to developers and property managers.
IFA 2026 will run from September 4 to 8 in Berlin. Those who cannot attend in person will be able to follow coverage of the press conference and presentations on LG's global YouTube channel.
