Chinese electronics maker Hisense unveiled a new operating platform called V AIOS on September 3, 2026, at the IFA trade show in Berlin, aiming to turn standalone home appliances into a single system controlled by artificial intelligence. The company branded its vision Companion Living and presented it under the show's overarching theme, Innovating a Brighter Life.

Four Pillars of the System

V AIOS builds on Hisense's existing VIDAA OS television system, extending it across the entire home. The company describes the platform's operation in four steps: Sense, meaning detecting people, devices and surroundings; Think, meaning recognizing the context and intentions of household members; Communicate, meaning natural communication between people and devices; and Execute, meaning actually coordinating devices and services so they carry out tasks on the user's behalf.

In practice, this means the UR9 TV with its True RGB Mini-LED screen becomes a control hub for the rest of the home, rather than just a device for watching content. The system is meant to recognize who is in the room, what habits they have and which devices are needed at any given moment, then start or adjust those devices on its own.

Kitchen, Laundry and Climate

The most concrete part of the presentation focused on the kitchen. The AI Companion Refrigerator is meant to recognize which products are stored inside and suggest recipes based on the contents. The AI Companion Oven is meant to support automatic cooking based on those suggestions, while the AI Companion Wine Cabinet recommends wine pairings and monitors bottle storage conditions. There is also the AI Companion Dishwasher, which is meant to detect how dirty the dishes are and select the appropriate washing program.

For laundry, the company showed off the AI Companion Laundry Suite, which is meant to identify fabric type and automatically select washing and drying programs without user input. The third area covers air and energy: the AI Companion Air Conditioner is meant to detect room conditions and the presence of household members, adjusting airflow accordingly, while the AI Companion Energy System is meant to factor in weather forecasts and electricity pricing tariffs when planning energy use.

Awards and Industry Recognition

Several products Hisense showed at IFA 2026 received recognition from the show's organizers. The U8 Air Master air conditioner and the Multi Function II series won the Winner Award in the HVAC category, while the X-zone Master and the W60 3D Kitchen-fit kitchen series made the honorable mention list along with a 60-centimeter built-in wine cabinet. The company emphasizes that it favors edge AI, meaning data is processed locally on the device rather than in the cloud, which it says protects household privacy.

Hisense also announced it would integrate its devices with the Amazon Smart Home AI Toolkit and the Alexa+ assistant, though it gave no specific start date for the partnership. The company likewise did not disclose prices or launch dates for individual devices in the AI Companion Suite, saying only that the new capabilities would be rolled out gradually across future product generations.

Market Context

Hisense's presentation fits into a broader trend at this year's IFA in Berlin, where nearly every major home appliance maker showed its own version of an integrated AI ecosystem. Xiaomi presented a platform linking phone, car and home, LG showed off its ThinQ Claw assistant for controlling an entire house, and Lenovo outlined a hybrid AI strategy for businesses. Industry forecasts, including analysis from the German trade association GFU, suggest that AI built into devices is what will revive consumer electronics sales after years of stagnation.

For context, this means the next wave of refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners hitting stores will be marketed above all as AI-equipped hardware, regardless of whether the features actually change everyday use. Hisense has been present in the Polish market for years, mainly in TVs and major home appliances, so the solutions unveiled at IFA 2026 have a real chance of reaching Polish stores as well, though without announced dates or prices it is hard to say today when that will happen.

The company has not provided any independently verified data on how well the system actually performs, for instance how accurately it identifies refrigerator contents or fabric type. All descriptions come from the company's own press materials, and the first independent reviews and user feedback will only arrive once the devices go on sale.
